It was a perfect weekend.
Mahaveer led right from the first free practice despite the rains. The first practice was disastrous for many, turning plans upside down, but Mahaveer held his grit and managed to be the fastest. The weather conditions improved during the second practice and Mahaveer improved his lap time.
In the absence of Ledermair, the battle remained between Mahaveer and De Plano the entire weekend. Mahaveer qualified first thanks to the efforts of the team with the car. The efforts paid off in the first race too - Raghunathan managed to fend off Salvatore De Plano’s Dallara GP2 Mecachrome 4.0 V8with his Lola Auto GP Gibson Tech 3.4 V8. Raghunathan said, “It was a good start and the race went really well. This is my first ever win, so I dedicate this to my grandfather”.
The issues with the brakes seemed to affect Mahaveer a bit in Race 2. He was overtaken at the start but managed the second position without trouble.
He currently leads the Formula Class with 171 points.
